The thermal simulation performance of Insulglass | Architecture & Design

Under AFRC protocols, we simulate glass performance based on the environmental conditions of the outside being -18° Celsius and the inside being 21°Celsius.

Heat wants to go from where it is hot to where it is not, so in this set environment, the 21°Celsius temperature wants to escape to the colder outside and standard glass is by far the easiest pathway to do so in a building… unless you have high performance double glazing.

These thermal simulations compare standard 6mm clear single glazed glass against our Insulglass range of Double Glazed Units (DGU) but with a more specific 0°Celsius temperature outside.

Observe in these videos the significant difference of inside glass surface temperatures after 1 minute of being in this environmental condition.
